Their first single “Red Blooded & Reckless” was about having a good time. Now lead singer Eric Barton and Iconic the Band dig into deep social issues in their second single “The Truth”.

In the age of “Fake News” the idea that the media often misrepresents important issues is becoming more well-known every day. What’s rare is a music project having the guts to address this controversy. Building off the strength of the country-rock sound delivered on their popular first single “Red Blooded & Reckless”, their new single “The Truth” was recently released aimed directly at shining a light on media manipulators in America and across the world. The anticipation surrounding the new song is high.
“We can balance writing about having a great time and enjoying ourselves with much more serious topics,” commented Barton. “I think our fans appreciate this kind of diversity in our approach!”
“The Truth” comes at many different topics the media misrepresents or avoids, including our current political climate, the epidemic of prescription medication, big pharma’s role in creating an opioid addiction epidemic and women’s rights. The song is a spirited call to action for everyone to wake up and get out of their individual bubble, and hold people accountable for their actions.
Barton and Iconic the Band are available both for media interviews and to perform “The Truth” live.
The new song is available as a digital download. Gigs for the band can be set up through contacting:
